Nick Saban Had An Absurd Quote After Alabama’s Win

He threw one incompletion on his lone second-half drive before spending the rest of the Crimson Tide's blowout 65-31 win on the sidelines.

Alabama coach Nick Saban went off on the lack of enthusiasm the school's students showed in last week's win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday.

Coming into the game with the 118th-ranked offense out of 130 FBS teams and facing the No. 2 defense according to Pro Football Focus, Arkansas scored 14 points on 236 yards in the first half.

The Tide (6-0, 3-0) reeled off a 99-yard TD drive in just five plays after that fumble to take a 28-7 lead.

The former Florida quarterback said on ESPN's "First Take" Friday that he thinks Saban was spot on in calling out the Crimson Tide student section for their shoddy attendance against Louisiana-Monroe.

"I can't make any comparisons". You show up for the game and you support your team. "This offense continues to get better, and it's the best we've played against the best team we've played". Alabama receiver Henry Ruggs III picked up the fumble in stride and carried it the remaining 12 yards for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead with 10:01 left in the first quarter.

The replay booth also overturned the ruling on the field that Damien Harris had not broken the plane of the end zone on a fourth-down leap at the end of Alabama's first series of the second half. Tagovailoa hit Jerry Jeudy for scoring strikes of 42 and 60 yards in the second quarter.

Defensively, Saban said the Tide has a lot of work to do to meet the level of play the offensive is playing at.

"I don't think you beat the other team when you give up 31 points like we did today, from a defense perspective". Didn't play together very well as a unit. "That's all you can ask for, and you've got to give credit to the coaches, the way we scheme them up and I thought we had a lot of great stuff going in".
