Former Miss Universe contestant Tanushree Dutta first alleged in 2008 that multi-award-winning Nana Patekar behaved inappropriately towards her during the making of a romantic comedy the same year. Patekar was expected to address the media, especially since he had accused the actress of lying about the alleged incident in front of the press.

Whle giving confirmation about the same, Tanushree Dutta legal representative, Nitin Satpute, on Monday stated, "The complaint has been filed with the Maharashtra State Commission for Women". Bollywood's cliquey nature also made it hard to go public, she said.

"Dutta visited the police station last night and submitted a written complaint", Shailesh Pasalwar, a Mumbai police inspector, told AFP.

The 34-year-old Dutta filed the complaint in Mumbai on Saturday.

She further said before shooting the song, which was supposed to be a solo song picturised only on her, she had clearly mentioned that she will not enact or perform any lewd, vulgar or uncomfortable steps. However, on the fourth day of the shoot, Nana Patekar's behavior was ill-fated.

"He was grabbing my hands and teaching me how to dance", Tanushree Dutta had told NDTV, in charges that have since sparked a number of public accusations against men in the media and entertainment industry.

When Tanushree put her foot down and was about to leave the set, Nana allegedly called members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena to intimidate her with violence. Taking cognisance of Tanushree Dutta's complaint against Nana Patekar, the women's body has asked for an update of investigation and asked Tanushree to come to the commission's office to record her statement.

She has been offered to be part of the controversial reality show in the past too.

She added, "This inner knowing enables us to make the right choices when needed, they warn us of the impending danger as well as reassure us of a victory in dark times".

She also lodged a complaint with CINTAA in March 2008.
