Music composer, Anu Malik, who was seen judging the TV reality show, Indian Idol 10, was asked to step down from his position following sexual misconduct allegations against him by singers Sona Mohapatra and Shweta Pandit.

"I have issued a statement to the channel - 'I, Anu Malik, have made a decision to take a break from Indian Idol as I am now unable to focus on my work on the show.' The channel has been kind to agree for the same. The show will continue its planned schedule & we'll invite some of the biggest names in Indian music as guests to join Vishal&Neha to judge extraordinary talent of Indian Idol season 10".

But, earlier today two unidentified females also charged the singer that he had harassed them and blamed Anu Malik of sexual misbehaviour.

Shweta had said in her post that she was just 15 when Malik made her uncomfortable by asking to kiss him. She also alleged that the composer would call her at odd hours. "There is no Indian Idol without Anu Malik", he bragged among his colleagues. Danica also added that majority in a team, knows about Malik's indecency but remain silent.

The singer had taken to Twitter to warn young girls about Anu Malik and spoke at length about his indecent behaviour that she had experienced as a teenager. While talking to a leading daily, she stated that she knows at least two women who suffered sexual harassment by composer, while working at Freemantle Media India during Indian Idol season 5. She had written, "I called #AnuMalik out first & stand by my statement of him being a "serial predator" along with #KailashKher". I went numb and pale in the face. Malik has repeatedly denied the allegations. When she tried to leave, he grabbed her and hugged her while running his hands over her body. He even went on to say that he has never worked with Sona. His lawyer on Thursday issued a statement, stating Shweta's allegations were false and baseless.
