Kanye West tells Trump MAGA hat made him feel like ‘Superman’

Wearing his Make America Great Again hat in the Oval Office, 'Ye proclaimed his admiration for the controversial president before he told him about his purported misdiagnosis.

The event was billed as a lunch at the White House to discuss prison reform, jobs for African-Americans and Chicago violence.

West, who received harsh criticism for suggesting slavery was a "choice," told Trump that "we have to release the love (throughout) the country. we don't have the reparations but we have the 13th Amendment".

Then, according to Jenkins, West announced he made a hat for Trump that says "Make America Great" sans the "again" - and that Trump wore it.

In a almost 10-minute long speech in the Oval Office, West says he was pressured not to wear his red "Make America Great Again".

But he said, "this hat, it gives me power".

Donald Trump is to have lunch on Thursday with musician Kanye West, one of his most famous celebrity supporters, and former football player Jim Brown to talk about the criminal justice system and prison reform among other political issues. At the end of the 10-minute monologue, during which Mr Trump had nodded in approval, the president said: "That was quite something".

West is married to reality television star Kim Kardashian West, who successfully pushed Trump to grant a pardon to a drug offender earlier this year.

His statement lasted almost 10 minutes before the president chimed in to compliment West on his honesty.

West told reporters: "Let's stop worrying about the future, all we have is today".
