Google Pixel 3 XL Goes On Sale Before Official Launch

It's happening - Google is finally putting an end to the endless stream of Pixel 3 leaks.

Google is holding its gadget event on Tuesday, part of its continuing push to embed its digital services and Android software more deeply into peoples' lives.

The colors available could be the aforementioned white (Chalk) and gray (Charcoal), but there could also be a new Coral variant.

It will be the first tablet with Chrome OS of the Colossus of Mountain View, and according to the images should be able to rely on a removable keyboard and an active stylus, to turn it into a small portable office. There is talk about a Chrome OS powered tablet, called the Pixel Slate. Surprisingly, Google is still sticking to a single rear camera setup.

Google doesn't disclose its phone shipments, unlike Apple, which has sold about 388 million iPhones since the first Pixel came out in October 2016.

The new Pixel-branded phones will anchor the event in NY. Reports starting surfacing a full month ago that Google was asking YouTubers for permission to use clips from Pixel 3 XL leak videos, so this strategy seems to have been in place for a full month. The device should run regular Android apps, and it may feature an ARM-based mobile processor or an ultra-low power CPU from Intel. As per FCC filings, it is supposed to add Bluetooth and improved 5GHz Wi-Fi support. Google Pixel Buds 2 The second-generation Pixel Buds have not been in the news much. Chromecast Ultra with support for 4K HDR, Chromecast Audio with multiroom streaming is expected to make an appearance.

This includes a new smart video speaker, the Home Hub, that will compete with Amazon's own Echo Show device and the Facebook Portal home camera, which was revealed on Monday.
