Google is set to simultaneously release the Pixel 3 XL and the Google Pixel Watch running Wear OS, the new name for Android Wear.

The recently released Pixel 3 teaser has also confirmed that the new device will boast Active Edge. The Pixel 3 models could also come in an Aqua colour option. Which means this year, Google will launch three Pixel phones this year instead of the regular two.

The design on the rear of the phone resembles the Pixel 2, with a two-tone finish and a fingerprint scanner. Both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL will also have Android 9 Pie pre-installed as soon as you remove both handsets from their packaging. It allowed the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users to trigger Google Assistant by squeezing the phone. The brief video shows a bit on Japan's culture while also briefly showing the feature that is the Active Edge.

Even Google seems to be mocking the idea that a never-before-seen Pixel Ultra exists with its "mini Pixel" teaser image on Instagram.

While it's very clear that the phone has a pale pink hue to it, it's unclear if the phone will be sold as "pink" or if this is the supposed "Sand" color we've heard about previously.

Sources also claim at least one Pixel 3 model will have a notch, and that it will use an OLED screen provided by LG.

Of course, Google isn't saying what, exactly, it's announcing.

We're just a few days away from Google's October 9 event where it'll reveal the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Which begs the question of how "mini" is too mini? To get the full scoop, catch the big reveal via livestream.

Jokes about a potential "Pixel 3 Mini" have been circulating for months. "Tune in on 10/9 to see for yourself", the company said in the Instagram post.
