Barbara Bush, the former first daughter, married her fiance, Craig Coyne, in Kennebunkport, Maine, on Sunday. "Laura and I are so proud of our compassionate, daring, fierce, kind, intelligent, loving daughter. And we're thrilled to welcome Craig Coyne to our family", he wrote in his caption.

"A former First Lady of the United States of America and relentless proponent of family literacy, Barbara Pierce Bush passed away Tuesday, April 17 2018 at the age of 92", read a statement from her husband, former President George H.W. Bush, who also attended the Sunday wedding.

"It was a very secret wedding, a little bit like my elusive sister, but also, just family in a place that means family love, and it was just handsome", she said.

Jenna Bush Hager provided details about the wedding to the "Today Show" on Monday. "But also, just family in a place that means family love, and it was just lovely", Hager, who served as matron of honor, said.

In a private ceremony officiated by the bride's aunt, Dorothy Bush Koch, Bush was escorted down the aisle by her father and grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush. The bride wore a custom Vera Wang ivory silk crepe gown with a cowl neckline for the intimate ceremony at the Bush family home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

The couple - who were set up by friends on a blind date last November - was very discreet during their brief romance, having never even been photographed together at events.

By New Year's, they made their relationship official and became engaged just five weeks ago when Coyne, a screenwriter, moved from Los Angeles to live with Barbara in New York City.

Barbara Bush is a married woman.
