Ariana Grande Breaks Silence On Pete Davidson Breakup For The First Time

News this week that the singer Ariana Grande's whirlwind engagement to comedian Pete Davidson has been called off might not have been such a surprise for those keeping an eye on celebrity news.

"Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a lil bit", Grande wrote in an Instagram Story that was later deleted. "She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline".

It's a stretch, but we're going to take this as a sign that Ariana and Pete's split is temporary (like their respective S.O. tats probably should have been). The singer's left ring finger, upon which she once bore the cursive scrawl of "pete", is now decorated with a beige band-aid.

Cazzie hasn't addressed Ariana and Pete's split (why would she?) but Pete did cancel a recent appearance at Temple University. As she later shared on her Instagram Stories, "Can't believe i nearly let my anxiety ruin this for me today!"

"Ariana made the final decision", the source said. "Ariana is going through a very rough time right now and she has the absolute support of her family and friends", revealed the pal.

A source told Entertainment Tonight that Grande was the one to end her relationship with Davidson. "She thanks her fans for their understanding".

Grande also wasn't wearing the $100,000 ring Davidson, 24, had proposed to her with just weeks after they started dating.
