Maroon 5 will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show

In Maroon 5, the National Football League has managed to find a wildly inoffensive down-the middle performer who will not ruffle any feathers, and they've done it without digging into their rolodex of classic-rock relics. No word yet if either collaborator will be joining Levine and his bandmates at the Super Bowl.

The NFL is bringing Super Bowl LIII to Atlanta and they're apparently bringing Maroon 5 with them.

The big game will be played at Atlanta, Georgia's Mercedes-Benz Stadium on February 3, 2019. We'll update this post upon confirmation, or if we hear any other news about this report.

Should the seven-member band be headlining this year's Super Bowl halftime show, they will be following on the heels of Justin Timberlake, who headlined the Super Bowl LII show with a 14-minute performance that included a tribute to Prince. At the time, he told Howard Stern that the band "very actively want to play the Super Bowl". Plus, with the Super Bowl being in Atlanta, one of the centers of hip-hop and the home of Migos (aka Offset, Cardi's husband) it seems like Maroon 5 would be nuts to NOT include her. According to a report from Variety, Maroon 5 will perform at Super Bowl LIII and the report hints at several possible guest appearances from Cardi B and Kendrick Lamar. Along with "Moves Like Jagger", they have also penned "Love Somebody", "Sugar", "Payphone" and "Animals". But is there anyone on the planet who is even slightly psyched about a Maroon 5 halftime show?
