The Vikings are fully expecting quarterback Aaron Rodgers to suit up for the Packers in Week 2 after spraining his knee in Week 1 against the Bears.

Rodgers will work in the rehab group during Wednesday's practice which means DeShone Kizer will get the first team reps. He said his knee is still sore, but that it's improving every day.

Rodgers echoed McCarthy on taking it on a day by day basis and revealed he didn't take pain medications Sunday night. Quarterback Kirk Cousins displayed both his particular skill set and toughness in the win, and wide-out Adam Thielen provided several big plays to continue Viking drives and set up scores.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer is pretty certain his team will be facing Rodgers.

"I want to play obviously", Rodgers said Wednesday. The 14-year veteran said he does not need to practice to play. Instead he worked with players rehabbing, which also included receiver Davante Adams. "See how it feels tomorrow and see how it feels Friday, Saturday and then hopefully ready to go Sunday". Barring any setbacks throughout the week, it's hard to imagine a scenario in which Rodgers doesn't get the start on Sunday. He reached for the back of his left leg after a Bears lineman landed on him during a sack. S Josh Jones (ankle) missed practice, while rookie LB Oren Burks (shoulder) was limited.
