Hopefully, this could also allow the Shortcuts team to update the app more regularly than if it was only changed with the next version of iOS. The new guide has five sections dedicated to basics, how to create, use and manage shortcuts, plus tips for advanced shortcuts and frequently asked questions.

You can either backup to the iCloud or plug your iPhone into your PC to make sure any important data is stored and saved. Share with us in the comments and we'll do a round up of your favourites.

Apple's newest mobile operating system for iPhones and iPads, iOS 12, is about to launch.

Tap Agree when you see Apple's Terms and Conditions. Shortcuts can be complex automations that you build yourself using the Shortcuts app, but they can also be simple one-hit features provided by an app.

You can also cut down on notifications however you see fit, and see some minor changes to both Messages and FaceTime. With that option enabled, the app is able to update its card every hour with the latest weather conditions. Simply put your device on charging and go to Settings General Software Update. iOS will automatically check for an update and if iOS 12 is available then a prompt will allow you to download and install the update.

If you're running iOS 11, then you can get iOS 12.

To get started, you can either update it by going to Settings, looking up General and selecting Software Update.

For a complete rundown on the list of features that are included in iOS 12, head over to Apple now.

Arguably more impressive, though, is the new Photos app, which boasts more powerful search (so you can search for things like "restaurants", "museums", or "hiking") plus suggestions that adhere to these categories.

There are quire a few new Animoji features, if you're using the newest of devices (anything in the X family).

Apple iOS 12 is a free upgrade and is compatible with iPhones from 5S and above. Apple is focusing on performance enhancements this time around instead of adding new features to the operating system.

The second way to update to iOS 12 is through iTunes.

Just like the early test software, iOS 12 will require you to download Siri Shortcuts separately.

If you can't wait that long you can try downgrading to iOS 11.

I've used the Watch's Siri face non-stop since first installing a beta of watchOS 4 last summer. That means your text messages, photos, and other data could suddenly vanish.

Apple has released at least 10.14.1, if not 10.14.2. Once it stops signing, and ultimately it will, you can't go ahead with the downgrade process. It's a thing. So if you're one of the small percentage of people that's experiencing a bug, it's not going to be a lot of fun.
