The 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro will release on 24 August to celebrate the fact that more than 500 million PS4 consoles have been sold since the first version launched in 2013 - 525.3 million, to be exact.

Alongside a transparent vertical stand, the package also includes a PlayStation Camera which doesn't feature a translucent chassis but still draped in similar dark blue colorway. This particular variant, which is created to celebrate PlayStation's achievement of reaching 525.3 million units of hardware worldwide, comes with translucent body. On the front of the console you'll find a commemorative copper plate with the limited edition serial number etched into it. Sony tells gamers to be on the lookout for certain special serial numbers, which include 09995, the United States launch date of the original PlayStation, and 01115, the U.S. launch date for the PS4. Keep an eye out for sales to start in a couple weeks on August 24.

The controller will also be available separately, alongside a "Gold Wireless Headset 500 Million Limited Edition". And, for the very lucky few who can get them, we have a few "extra special" hardware units with serial numbers that commemorate important events in the history of PlayStation. It sports a translucent dark blue console shell that barely lets you see inside, as well as a matching DualShock 4 controller. The DualShock 4 controller ($64.99) and the Gold Wireless Headset ($99.99) will be available later, sometime in early September from select retailers in the United States and Canada.
