You can even hang out with the gang, call out to other riders, or just stir up trouble.

It's been eight years since the original Red Dead Redemption was released. Sure, all the trailers were created using in-engine footage, but they give little hint as to how the game will actually play.

Rockstar have released a new gameplay trailer Red Dead Redemption 2, captured in 4K and judging by the button prompts, the game is running on a PS4 Pro. Apart from its grim and gritty story and setting, Red Dead Redemption 2 should stand as a superlative technical showcase for the current console generation; the game was, after all, built from the ground up for consoles.

Arthur Morgan is the new character at the center of the sequel to Red Dead Redemption, though we already know John Marston, the playable lead of the first game, is making a comeback. Your gang will set up various camps along the way through the main mission, and these camps serve as a homebase of sorts where you can eat, sleep, play games, and do chores.

On the gameplay front, Red Dead Redemption 2 appears to have a refreshingly stripped down HUD, with only a small mini-map and the occasional dialogue options on screen.

You'll be playing as Arthur Morgan, a senior member of an outlaw gang, who has to flee from authorities on the regular. With the October release date seemingly secured, we shall finally be getting our first look at gameplay later today. Ready for some Wild West rowdiness now that you've seen more of RDR2?
