How To Get Fortnite For Android On A Non-Samsung Phone

While many of us know that Epic has made a decision to skip the Play Store and distribute Fortnite on its own in order to have a "direct relationship" with players and avoid giving Google a 30 percent cut of its sales, there are some Android users out there that don't know that. However, you'll have to jump through a few hoops before you can jump from the battle bus.

If you have an Android powered phone and want to play Fortnite on it, you'll have to do so outside of the normal methods for grabbing android apps.

New data has revealed that global tech giant Google could lose around United States dollars 50 million this year due to Epic Games' decision to not release Fortnite on Google's Play Store. This is very likely to be automatically generated by Google's search algorithms, rather than any attempt on Google's part to direct potential customers elsewhere; the game was the top result prior to the announcement of the beta as well.

It isn't necessarily Epic's fault if a user bypasses the official Fortnite installer and downloads an APK from the internet but it could have been avoided.

After that, you'll need to wait again.

Samsung's Fortnite exclusive period has passed which means the game can be installed on supported devices. When your invitation is registered, you'll be able to download the Fortnite Installer. Fans can download the game directly from Epic's website instead, and market intelligence company Sensor Tower said that move could cost Google at least $50 million in platform fees this year. Mobile users have been trained to go to their device's app marketplace to acquire games.

But it's easy to see why Epic is choosing to distribute the game itself. Neat-o (?) This app is required even on Samsung devices, though it can be downloaded from the official Galaxy Apps store.

It's with other Android devices where things get tricky. Yeah, it's one of those, but it's to be expected, considering the scope of the game.
