"Fortnite" Update Introduces Heavy Sniper Rifle, Soaring 50’s Game Mode, & More

As of the time of publication, Fortnite hasn't released any official information about the patch and its objective is still being debated.

For those who prefer the Save the World part of Fortnite, there are a new set of weekly Horde challenges and a brand new hero called Thora joining the equation. Notably, Fortnite is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and select Android handsets.

"We've identified the issue and are working towards a fix".

The development team did warn that this could happen at a later date, due to problems with the latest Fortnite content patch. Gliders can be re-deployed when falling from large heights.

Not the biggest update, but the Heavy Sniper Rifle should be a handy item, and the Soaring 50s mode sounds like fun.

There is also a brand new Sniper Shootout mode where plays will do battles purely with rifles with the main emphasis of the mode on those Fortnite gamers have the best aim with this type of weapon.

Fortnite: Save the World gets a bit of love from the update too.

Lure husks into traps and control areas when things get critical! This comes bundled with a new weekly challenge mode named "bullet proof husks".

At present, Epic Games has not addressed the performance issues now affecting players on 4G devices.

"We're aware of an increase in crashes in Battle Royale since the release of v5.21".

Bug Fix. Fixed an issue that could cause Rocket Launchers to take up a large portion of the screen. Also, as per a checklist provided by Epic Games, "this incident has now been resolved and players should now be able to update".
