Europe is getting a Smash Ultimate limited edition

Nintendo needed to make up some ground after fans were left aghast following the announcement of Luigi's death. It's not surprising that Nintendo would choose to focus on it to the exclusion of just about everything else.

Simon and Richter have their classic weapons, including the Holy Whip, axe, cross, holy water and melee attacks, while their Final Smash is the Grand Cross.

Stamina Battle is also returning, taking its place alongside Time Battle and Stock Battle as one of Ultimate's standard game modes. That and a couple of extant rumors led a lot of fans to theorize that Simon might be the next guest fighter. His stage is Dracula's Castle, with candlesticks that release an item when destroyed. In addition to Richter Belmont, two other Echo fighters in the game are Chrom from the Fire Emblem series (Echo fighter for Roy) and Dark Samus from the Metroid games (Echo fighter for Samus).

After today, it's definitely clear that Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be unlike any Smash Bros game we've seen before. Some of the new Assist Trophies that are joining Super Smash Bros. Rathalos is the first character in Smash history that can show up as both an assist trophy and a boss character in single-player modes. Ultimate Direct, and, as you would expect, it was jam-packed with exciting info, including the reveal of two debuting characters, as well as new "Echo Fighters", Assist Trophies, stages, modes, and more! Ultimate Direct Presentation to see new character reveals - and they did get those - fans were not prepared for what they saw. A surprise announced made was the new feature to have stages morph into one another during battle. Ultimate bundle that will arrive alongside the regular edition of the game.

A GameCube controller has been the preferred input for pro-level and diehard Smash Bros. players ever since Super Smash Bros. "Ultimate" as Echo fighters. If it's significant enough to merit its own spot on the main menu screen, just below "Smash", it must be a big deal.

Because of these additions, Training mode sounds like it's going to be a great way to learn a new character quickly. A story mode? A sequel to Subspace Emissary?
