It was being speculated that if the wedding with beau Nick Jonas is not the reason then Priyanka Chopra opted out of Salman Khan's Bharat and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kothewali, it must be Pratt's film.

Universal has reportedly removed the upcoming film from its release calendar and delayed production indefinitely, according to Collider.

The film, based on a popular graphic novel, was set to be released on June 28, 2019. Created by writer A. J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, Cowboy Ninja Viking is an Image Comics series about secret counter-intelligence agents with multiple personality disorders.

With the film meant to get underway in September, it's hard to speculate what exactly has caused the production delay and the loss of release date, and what else about it needs to be developed. As for Chopra, her future with the film remains unclear.

Craig Mazin wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay with an original draft by Paul Wernick and Everett David Reese. The film will be produced by Pratt along with Michael De Luca Productions, Entertainment 360, and Mark Gordon under his Entertainment One banner.

On the heels of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 plunging into chaos following the firing of writer/director James Gunn, there's more bad news for Chris Pratt. Pratt's character would have the skills of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking whilst others included Amish, Demo Expert, and Army Captain. The actor will next be seen in Vincent D'Onofrio's western The Kid, and he also returns for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. The movie is being looked at as a potential franchise in this time of prequels and sequels.
