Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is also a keen admirer with the Red Devils reportedly preparing a fresh approach this week.

Chelsea play their opening game of the premier league season against Huddersfield at the John Smith's Stadium with the kick off slated at 5PM.

The Brazil global has only just returned back to training after being allowed extra time to recover after his World Cup exploits. Bakayoko featured in all of Chelsea's pre-season games but was absent in the Community Shield encounter against Manchester City. I have spoken with him three or four times for everything, and he never said something about the market.

"Why not?" he exclusively told Starsport when asked if Chelsea could win the title.

Kovacic leaves Real after three seasons, during which he made 109 appearances and helped the club lift nine trophies, including three successive UEFA Champions League titles.

"We are very happy to welcome Mateo to the Chelsea family". "His hard-tackling style is unlikely to suit Maurizio Sarri's style of play, but would be ideal for Diavolo Coach Gennaro Gattuso". "We have to do all we can to keep improving".

The arrival of Jorginho, 25, from Napoli, Sarri's old stomping ground, signalled one of the central midfielders at the club would leave.

The presence of Danny Drinkwater on the bench instead suggested that Sarri is likely to use the Englishman more than he would make use of Bakayoko in the coming season.

Sarri will at least be hoping to at least keep hold of the players that he already has at his disposal.

With the window still open for Spanish clubs for August 31, Real Madrid continue to be linked with star man Eden Hazard and former Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who moved to the Bernabeu for £35m this week, has urged his compatriot to join him in the Spanish capital.
