Chelsea vs Manchester City

The England 2018/2019 football season gets underway on Sunday with the traditional FA Community Shield match pitting the previous season's FA Cup victor against the champion of the English Premier League, as The Sun explains, which this year means that the game will feature an elite-level top-flight clash between Chelsea, winners of the FA Cup, and multiple-record-setting Premier League champions Manchester City in a game that will live stream from London.

Fresh from an entire summer off - we won't go into the why again - Leroy Sane is poised to build on the campaign which saw him lauded as the Young Player of the Year following a predominant role in City's title winning season which yielded ten goals and 15 assists.

City have made just one major acquisition so far this summer, with Riyad Mahrez joining from Leicester, but nonetheless Guardiola's side look in excellent shape as they aim to retain the Premier League title.

Despite lacking a few first team regulars, it's as if the season had never ended.

"Phil Foden will hopefully have a great season ahead because England lacked creativity, that little bit of imagination when you need to break a team down".

Three weeks after the World Cup finished, the Premier League champions opened the new season by collecting more silverware. Pep said of Sarri. Time and time again the Citizens were able to find pockets of space in unsafe areas, played their way out of pressure and split open an uncomfortable-looking centre back pairing of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger to create overloads in the final third.

"We don't have players to substitute Fernandinho".

"We started well and played the level of last season with just five or six training sessions", the City manager added.

"It was hard but the players played really well", said Guardiola.

Manchester City picked up where they left off last season, claiming a comprehensive 2-0 win over a disjointed Chelsea side in the Community Shield. The Italian did, however, say that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge for long.

"In the second half there was a big difference between us and City from the physical point of view, so we have to work", he said.

But with Eden Hazard and N´Golo Kante among those to return after the World Cup, it is too soon to make a judgement after more managerial turmoil. We have the idea to be in control of the match but today we were not in control of the match. It's not very easy.

"I have to win and then it depends on the club but I want to stay here for a long time."
