Blizzard confirms multiple Diablo projects in development

It's a bit tough to say with any certainty at the moment, but Blizzard has been dropping some hints about the next Diablo for quite some time.

Given that outside of a small hero addition and some updates Diablo has been mostly dormant since 2014, it was easy to think that it would be a long while until we saw anything substantial again, but this changes that perception. Blizzard announced today that it has multiple new Diablo projects in the works, and fans might get a glimpse at some of them soon. Let us know. It's great to see that Blizzard is ramping up development in the franchise, so we'll see many new experiences in the near future.

For now, Camel directed current Diablo III players to the game's 14th Season, the "Season of Greed".

Blizzard has been hiring new employees for their "Unannounced Diablo Project" for more than two years now. And while some of them will take longer than others, Blizzard may have something to show later this year. At the time, a reimagining of the second game seemed unlikely, as did a full-on Diablo 4.

Now that Blizzard has gone on record saying multiple projects are in the works, it's possible one of them could be the rumored Switch port of Diablo 3. There have been plenty of Diablo 1/2 remaster rumours over the years, but personally, I'm hoping we'll be getting a Diablo 4 at some point in the next few years. Blizzard Entertainment did finish the Diablo 3 but offered a fresh new take on the series.
