Adam Pally and Neal McDonough, both of whom have popped up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, have signed on to join Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog movie, Collider has exclusively learned. And now he's getting his own movie, and the actor who will voice the speedy, blue hero has been revealed.

Envisioned as a synthesis of live-action and CGI, the film is to center around Sonic and his friends Tails the fox and Knuckles the echidna.

Variety reports Ben Schwartz is set to voice Sonic the Hedgehog himself in the upcoming feature film adaptation from Paramount Pictures.

Scwartz, who is now voicing Dewey Duck on Disney Channel's Duck Tales reboot, can next be seen in the Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish comedy Night School. It'll probably be just a matter of time before we learn about who will be joining Schwartz to voice key characters in the film, such as Sonic's buddies Tails the Fox and Knuckles the Echidna, who are likely to show up at some point considering they're such fan favorites and all. You can find out more about that over here. The news comes after the confirmation that Jim Carrey will indeed portray a live-action Dr. Eggman in the same film.

What do you think of this casting? Hopefully we'll be hearing more about this perplexing movie as production continues. Deadpool director Tim Miller is also serving as executive producer with Toby Ascher. Fowler also co-directed the 2005 Oscar-nominated animated short "Gopher Broke". The film is slated to arrive November 19, 2019.
