Speaking to Sky Sports, Emery revealed what he is planning for the club.

"Our style with the ball is to be protagonists, to do things with combinations, to control the match with the positioning of the ball".

"But the other players are with us and we are going to work at the Emirates the day before the match with all the players", he added.

"It's more easy to speak here than to do it on the pitch".

Ramsey's commitment to Arsenal has not yet resulted in him signing a new contract to replace the one that expires next year but Emery said "it is important he stays with us" and ruled out the possibility of the Welshman leaving for a European club before the end of the continental transfer window this month.

"We have Koscielny out with a long injury and then also Kolasinac has a long injury".

"For me, that is the best message I can give the supporters. I repeat: organised, then play".

It might be a while before the Emery revolution bears fruit, but his attention to detail and desire for a high-tempo pressing game should make Arsenal a tougher unit than Wenger's skilful but spineless group. This, more often than not, landed them in trouble when they faced fast attacking teams.

And the former Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla coach has stressed the importance of Arsenal being on the front foot.

"I want to show and to be together with the supporters and to start a new way, a new process".

"The same when we are thinking defensively, I want our strikers to be thinking: 'We need to protect the goalkeepers.' I want those two moments to feel the same for all players".

"He makes it hard for teams to play against them".

The 46-year-old Spaniard arrives with an intriguing pedigree, having enjoyed success with PSG, only to pay the price for failing to fulfil the club's desire to win the Champions League.

Asked to explain his decision, Emery told the London Evening Standard: "In my career I want leaders in the team - there is the representation for every player and in every time in the season the capacity to do that".
