UFC 226 will be taking place in T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on Saturday, July 7, with the main event fight at 7pm PT, 10pm ET, 3am Sunday BST and midday Sunday AEST.

"I, ugh, I, ugh, I was a heavyweight a long time and I left the division", Cormier (21-1) said. Miocic is the most dominant heavyweight champion in UFC history, with three straight title defences, while former US Olympic wrestling captain Cormier is a former Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix champion and the current UFC light-heavyweight champ - and also has three title defences to his name. Cormier joins Conor McGregor in becoming the only other fighter to hold two titles at the same time.

The 39-year-old Cormier has never lost to anyone except Jon Jones, and his five-inch height disadvantage against Miocic was no problem.

WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar attended UFC 226 on Saturday night and appears destined for a return to the sport to face the new UFC heavyweight champion. Someone asked me earlier 'What's your approach to fighting Stipe?' and it's going to be the exact same thing.

"It's the same, man, these guys are all the same", Cormier said "I approach them all the same way".

While the event has taken a big hit with Max Holloway's removal from his title fight with Brian Ortega after showing concussion-like symptoms during fight week, the card is still stacked with star power.

For now though, Cormier has firmly inserted himself into the "Greatest Of All-Time" conversation along with the likes of St. Pierrer and UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. After reigning for more than two years atop a notoriously unstable division, Miocic didn't hesitate to risk his belt in a career-defining bout. "I spent all camp knocking out my training partners, and today I got to do it in the octagon".

Paul Felder will likely be looking at a return to the lightweight ranks following his split decision loss to Mike Perry in their short-notice welterweight meeting.

It seems all but confirmed that UFC is now headed to a UFC heavyweight title fight between Cormier and Lesnar, which would be a big time draw on PPV. "(Francis) Ngannou is a piece of sh*t! By comparison, Miocic landed 24.

"What happened in my last fight?" he asked. Light heavyweight Khalil Rountree kicked off the PPV card with a surprising first-round stoppage of Gokhan Saki, a heralded Dutch kickboxer in his third pro MMA fight.
