The event lasts 36 hours. After that period expires, Amazon Prime costs about $12.99 (£9.79) per month.

If you'd prefer to subscribe to Amazon Prime for a full year, you can pay $199 (£149.97) up front. It gets you a solid picture with a lot of inputs for daily use. Each month, Prime members can also download six editor's picks for free before the official publication date.
