As for whether "Who is America?" finds an answer to its title, as with Cohen's past efforts, the series generally provides exaggerated snapshots of America, connected by one overarching picture: the hypnotic, numbing effect that the promise of TV exposure can induce, even on those who should theoretically know better.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher of California said training school children how to shoot "might actually make us safer".

"Who is America?" is both the title of Sacha Baron Cohen's first foray into television satire in more than a decade and the existential question on the lips of liberals living through the Trump presidency.

Rep. Joe Wilson of SC also chimed in, saying "A three-year-old can not defend itself from an assault rifle by throwing a Hello Kitty pencil case at it", and adding that "our founding fathers do not put an age limit on the second amendment".

"Toddlers are pure, uncorrupted by fake news or homosexuality, they don't worry about shooting a mentally deranged gunman".

Yes, that's right. Using a pistol disguised as a puppet, Van Cleave tells children he's going to teach them "to stop these naughty men and have them take a long nap". Erran Morad is a gruff, Israeli anti-terrorism expert waving the flag for a new programme he calls "Kinderguardians", which would train kids ages 3 to 16 how to use guns. "In less than a month-less than a month-a first-grader can become a first grenade-er".

Pratt, apparently reading from a pre-prepared script, touts the "proven science" supporting the program oblivious to the fact that it is peppered with nonsensical pop culture references. "Children under five also have elevated levels of the pheromone Blink 182, produced by the part of the liver known as the Rita Ora". On July 4th, Cohen took to social media to tease the project with footage featuring Donald Trump.

Pratt and Walsh echo Lott's refrain, and the video closes with Walsh saying "happy shooting, kids".

Want to read why the brand new show could be the only political comedy worth watching? Former VP candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin, former VP Dick Cheney, and radio talk show host Joe Walsh also reportedly havebeen duped by Cohen in various ways.

Cohen, in character, then persuades his guest to help him film an instructional video, titled, "Kinder Guardians: How to Protect Your Preschool".

"I was in the service-not military, but United Parcel and I only fought for my country once-when I shot a Mexican who came onto my property", Riddick wrote. "The request was to thank me for being a friend of Israel", Wilson said in a statement released to The State.
