The Premier League champions have been desperate to keep the Algerian global who scored 13 goals in 41 appearances for them last season.

Algerian football star Riyad Mahrez is set to complete a move to Manchester City later this week, Sky Sports reports. The Algerian winger looked to be on his way to the Etihad in January, but last minute demands by Leicester City collapsed the deal. The midfielder went on to submit a transfer request in a bid to force through a move, but that only earned him temporary banishment from the team.

Manchester City have also been linked with Napoli midfielder Jorginho with the Italy worldwide reportedly left out of their pre-season training camp squad.

The cost of the deal will be around 60 million pounds, a little less than Leicester rejected from City in the final days of the January transfer window.

And Mahrez did not take the rejection well refusing to play or train for some time and even scooped up fines fined for his boycott.

It is understood the 27-year-old wants a resolution before his proposed return to Leicester next week and negotiations are continuing on that basis.
