The 50-year-old said it was a "slightly hard time with Kevin, yeah".

This comes after multiple men have stepped forward to accuse Spacey of sexual misconduct - including actor Anthony Rapp, who claimed Spacey tried to initiate sex with him in 1986, when he was only 14.

Spacey took to Twitter and claimed he didn't recall any such interaction, and apologised for his "inappropriate drunken behavior".

After a very uncomfortable pause, he added, as if to clarify that it was indeed exactly what everyone was thinking, "Thankfully, I was 29 and not 14".

Spacey said in a statement at the time: "I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor".

"I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago". As those closest to me know, in my life, I have had relationships with both men and women.

In the months since the first allegation against Spacey was made, the actor has remained entirely out of the spotlight. Spacey became the subject of a Scotland Yard investigation in January when an alleged victim went to police claiming he was sexually assaulted in Westminster in 2005; police in London were already investigating 2 similar complaints before that.

Film and television studios have cut ties with the actor since the allegations made headlines, and hit Netflix series House Of Cards is set to return for a new season without Spacey in its leading role. He was also replaced with Christopher Plummer in Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World.

The 58-year-old will be making a big-screen comeback in the Billionaire Boys Club which will be released this August. One of his lawyers Bryan Freedman later stated that Spacey "absolutely denies" all subsequent accusations, including 20 allegations of inappropriate behaviour during his 11-year post as artistic director at The Old Vic in London.
