LeBron James jersey sales booming after Lakers signing

It doesn't take long before conversation shifts to one of the hottest National Basketball Association signings this year - LeBron to the Los Angeles Lakers.

"The Warriors can sign Boogie [DeMarcus Cousins], Prince, Michael Jordan, anybody they want!"

Rondo figures to be the fourth player to come to terms with the Lakers after the massive LeBron James announcement, following the one-year agreements with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee.

The supporting cast around LeBron James was not good enough to win a championship last season, and no one is surprised he wanted a change of scenery.

"King James" brought his hometown a championship back in 2016 after promising to do so when he returned to the Cavs in 2014. Ball had been mentioned in trade rumors, prior to news breaking that he was recovering from a torn meniscus.

Here's the reality of the situation: no matter what uniform he wears, LeBron James is going to be LeBron James, and it doesn't matter if Lonzo Ball is tagging along for the ride or not. Kemba Walker and Jimmy Butler hit the free agent market in 2019, too, as does Klay Thompson - his dad, Mychal, who played for the Lakers, is on the team's broadcast crew - and that's where it gets interesting. On the other, the Lakers can use young players such as Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Kyle Kuzma.

When Jeanie Buss took over control of the Lakers three years ago, she first sought Magic Johnson's advice on an ad hoc basis, but then eventually hired him as president of basketball operations. "He's just got that special gift". "Anybody would enjoy playing with my boy, it's always been like that". He played 52 games during his rookie season, averaging 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.2 assists in 34.2 minutes per game. No. 1 being to beat his old nemesis, the Golden State Warriors, who are in the same division and who just added Demarcus Cousins to their already loaded roster. But regardless of what happens, James made his commitment clear and that allows the Lakers front office to be patient in putting the right team around him.
