Super Eagles star Sadiq Umar has finalized his season loan deal to Scottish club, Glasgow Rangers from Italian side, AS Roma.

He told Rangers TV: "It was not easy but when my agent said Gerrard is the head coach, I said okay no problem and was happy to come in".

The lanky forward has also spent time on loan with Bologna and Torino after scoring twice in six Serie A appearances for Roma during the 2015/2017 season.

"Rangers can today [Tuesday] announce the signing of Lassana Coulibaly on a season-long loan from French side Angers, subject to global clearance", read a statement on club website.

I truly am excited to be joining Rangers, it is a historical club and I can't wait to play here.

"He called me about two weeks ago and from there I started changing my mind".

"I sat the young lads down on day one and told them they would come over to Spain and it was down to them to mix it with the senior players and let them know you're here to challenge them", he said.

"In football you never know what is going to happen but hard work pays and with the work I am going to do here I think I will be successful".

He must now turn his attention to Thursday's Europa League qualifying match against Macedonian team FK Shkupi.

Speaking to RangersTV Sadiq - whose deal is subject to worldwide clearance and who claimed that, "in Nigeria I am compared to the legend Kanu and Emmanuel Adebayor" - said: "It is very good to be here, it has been good so far and I can't wait to start. I knew about Rangers because everybody knows about them".
