Robin Wright is finally speaking up about her former House of Cards co-star Kevin Spacey who was sacked from the Netflix drama amid allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct. "We never socialized outside of work". "I didn't know the man. I knew the incredible craftsman that he is".

Claire Underwood - sitting in a chair that resembles that of the Lincoln Memorial - wishes herself a "Happy Independence Day" in the video.

The truth behind this statement resonates with the story for the upcoming, final season as well as the series of events that took place after sexual allegations against Kevin Spacey surfaced back in October of previous year.

But this is what Guthrie did not ask Wright about: allegations, like the ones contained in a November 3 CNN report, that the set in Maryland where "House of Cards" was filmed was "toxic" with Spacey's abusive and predatory sexual behavior. Soon after, several others accused the actor of sexual assault or harassment including Harry Dreyfuss. Production was halted on House of Cards season 6 while the show reconfigured the season without Spacey. It will feature a different look, one without former star Kevin Spacey.

House of Cards is expected to return with an eight episode season this fall on Netflix.

The final season is all set to take Netflix by storm.

In the final moments of season 5, Claire turned to the camera to break the fourth wall for the first time in the series.
