Fortnite players will celebrate the game's birthday next week through a limited time, in-game event.

Believe it or not, it's been a whole year since Fortnite burst on to the scene and became the biggest video game on the planet. Finally, the last challenge will award players with a happy birthday spray if they take the time to dance in front of 10 birthday cakes.

The number-crunchers over at SuperData are reporting that the global craze that is Epic Games' Fortnite has absolutely raked in the gold with its in-game purchases, with estimates popping the $1 billion dollar mark. It seems like the famous Battle Bus might be getting a birthday makeover for the event, too.

7, players will be able to complete a set of three birthday challenges in Battle Royale mode to unlock birthday-themed cosmetic items, new character skins and other goodies.

Those who complete the Fortnite Birthday questline in Save the World will earn the Birthday Brigade Ramirez Hero. Tickets can be spent on a new Birthday Llama as well, which will have special heroes and weapons from every event so far over this year.

July 24 is actually the one year anniversary of Fortnite Save the World's launch, rather than the Battle Royale mode, which didn't arrive until September last year. Playing 14 matches will net you 5,000 XP, and dealing 1,000 damage to opponents will get you an emoticon of a birthday cupcake. It all kicks off in just a few days, so be sure to log in and complete your quests starting on July 24.

According to a new study conducted by research firm SuperData, Fortnite has amassed over $1 billion since it was released previous year.
