England fans trash an IKEA after win over Sweden

England captain Harry Kane said his team were "buzzing" and full of confidence as they reached their first World Cup semi-final since 1990 after seeing off Sweden 2-0 on Saturday.

Former midfielder Hakan Mild has been the most bolshie and claimed England do not have the determination required to triumph as they are "spoilt children who earn a lot of money" - comments that appear to have got under Southgate's skin. "Controlled the game. Fantastic", Tim Banks said.

At the final whistle, Gareth Southgate, normally mild-mannered, walked on to the pitch and roared his approval to 5,000 England fans who roared back. For this reason, it's interesting to see what another nation thinks of England's chances of going all the way this summer, and what better country to look towards than Italy, their own team sitting out for the first time in 60 years after they failed to qualify. We knew we would have the majority of the ball and it was a case of breaking them down because Sweden are a really well organised team. We've just got to keep doing what we are doing.

"No passengers, nobody failing to close down, nobody strolling around".

"I think that is probably starting to register with them now - maybe I tell the truth most of the time".

Welch has not said what he might do if England make the final, or even win the World Cup! "I think it would be fantastic for everyone".

"I'm so, so proud of what all of the players and all of the staff have done because we've got to this point because the collective has been so strong".

"We are ready, we are ready for the challenge", Gerrard said as Rangers prepare to host Shkupi in the Europa League qualifiers next week.

Police are urging people to enjoy themselves, the game, and the warm weather, but to behave appropriately and respect others at all times.

"After a year ago of course there will be more pressure and more eyes on us, but I'm confident come kick-off that they will be ready to go".
