Hussain killed a 10-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman when he began shooting Sunday on Danforth Avenue in the city's Greek community.

Meanwhile, Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti said in a statement Tuesday that the city will lower its flags in honour of Julianna. The community has to come to the realization that we are NOT the victims and that we have evil in our midst which we must weed out. His arm, calmly, meticulously raised a handgun and people as they strolled in Toronto's Greektown neighborhood.

Reese Fallon, an 18-year-old woman about to start nursing school, was killed during the shooting. Hussain was found dead after exchanging gunfire with police.

Hussain's family said he had suffered since infancy from serious mental problems, which treatment and medication were unable to overcome.

"The police are doing their best, but they're operating under extraordinarily hard circumstances to deal with these guns", the mayor said. "They'll get through it, and they'll be Danforth Strong".

There have been 23 gun homicides in Toronto in 2018. The manager, John Kilanis, said the restaurant reopened on Tuesday. "The bullet grazed (me) and I thought I was hit". "I understand the argument of hunters and fishers, but no one is using handguns to cull the raccoon population in Toronto", he said. "It could have been worse".

A fountain in the Alexander the Great Parkette is now one of the main places for people to leave flowers, candles, and messages of hope and support.

Mary Marzo wrote a plea for "love and peace" in chalk at the memorial, saying the city and neighbourhood could use more of both at the moment.

Since the shooting, Demircan said he attended the vigil at the scene on Wednesday night, and plans to do more.

Mark Harris brought his trained therapy dog Cocoa - a massive black Newfoundlander - to the fountain to see if he could be of any help.

I was just reminded that there is goodness in the world.

Anthony Parise, who taught Fallon's Grade 12 English class, remembered her as "a leader among her peers" who planned to become a nurse. "Your mom is at the hospital.' He'd say, 'Oh [Malik], I'll make a sandwich".

"He smiled - like big smile, white teeth, whenever he saw me".

Mr Saunders said officials will continue to explore every investigative avenue, including interviews and reviewing the online activity and mental health experiences of dead gunman Faisal Hussain. The family said they were shocked at Hussain's "senseless violence" and expressed their condolences for the families of the shooting victims.

Hussain's friends and co-workers told reporters he showed no signs of mental illness, describing him as upbeat, hard-working, and "bubbly". "I can't put two and two together".

"I asked him, 'What do you want to do?"

Faisal, he suggested, has lived alone in the apartment in the meantime.

"It's really tragic, and very sad", Vidarsson said.

Malik would often run into Hussain outside on his way to and from work, most recently at a local Shoppers Drug Mart.

Neighbours said the financial support Hussain provided would have been welcome for a family contending with numerous tragedies.
