Charles Oakley Arrested At Las Vegas Casino For Cheating, Allegedly

Former NBA forward Charles Oakley was arrested Sunday after he was caught on camera allegedly cheating at the Cosmopolitan, a Las Vegas casino.

The website reported that Oakley had sought to withdraw a $100 betting chip from a table after it appeared he was going to lose.

Oak, 54, was confronted about the incident and after a security team reviewed the casino's video footage it was determined that he had cheated.

The state takes such crimes seriously, which is why Oakley is facing between 1 and 6 years in prison if convicted.

"This is an insignificant matter that will be quickly resolved", a source close to Oakley told TMZ.

Oakley played in the National Basketball Association for 19 seasons, including 10 years with the New York Knicks.

Oakley was recently cleared of misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a scuffle with Madison Square Garden security guards a year ago in which he was violently ejected from the stadium during a game.

The 19-year NBA veteran now is serving as head coach of the Killer 3s in the Big3 summer basketball league. Criminal charges were dismissed in February of this year, but Dolan has banned Oakley from Madison Square Garden for life. By the time of the 2017 incident, the relationship between the two parties had become more than hostile so Dolan had plenty of motive for wanting to embarrass Oakley. Oakley got in a fight with a security guard, causing a pause in the game, before being dragged away.
