The Brand New 'Halloween' Trailer Is Here

While I'm one of those weirdos who enjoys nearly all of the Halloween sequels (except Halloween: Resurrection; that movie can buzz off), I also know that no film has ever come close to approaching the brilliance of John Carpenter's original. Still, it is possible that David Gordon Green and Danny McBride's long anticipated Halloween sequel due out this October will be something entirely unexpected. After Halloween Resurrection and the Rob Zombie remakes, I had all but given up hope on the franchise. Carpenter is involved as a story advisor and is composing the movie's score.

But, of course, something goes wrong that leads Michael to escape from prison and he heads right back to his home town where Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is awaiting her rematch with the classic villain. When Laurie learns that Michael has broken out of prison and plans to terrorize to their small IL town of Haddonfield - where Laurie, her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), and her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) reside - she readies herself for a brutal and bloody showdown that will end their deadly cat-and-mouse game for good. Laurie also had a son, John (Josh Hartnett). Indeed, the new Halloween is ignoring pretty much every sequel that came after Carpenter's original.

I'll admit, I was really nervous at first for a new Halloween movie.

Halloween is set for release shortly before Halloween this year, hitting the big screen on 19 October.

According to the movie's official synopsis: "Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago".
