The son of actors Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett is in custody again, this time accused of a violent crime spree in Southern California.

On Friday, authorities announced that O'Neal has additionally been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of attempted murder, criminal threats, brandishing a knife and battery.

According to Los Angeles Police Department officials, Redmond, 33, was named as a possible suspect for a various crimes that occurred in the Los Angeles area that began on May 2 and ended with O'Neal's arrest on May 8.

Other incidents included several unprovoked attacks on people, including one who was stabbed in the face by the troubled Hollywood spawn. He also was charged with possession of a smoking device, possession of an injection device and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Police said he became angry after the victim appeared to look at him, and he then punched the victim and armed himself with a glass bottle, police said.

On May 5 at about 4 p.m., investigators said a suspect also fitting O'Neal's description brandished a folding knife at an employee of a coffee shop on Pacific and Windward avenues.

All five alleged attacks involve a suspect whose description, at least partially, matches that of O'Neal, including being white, with red hair and distinct tattoos.

And finally, in the still-dark hours of May 8, police said, the attempted robbery of the Santa Monica convenience store.

"It appears, though, based on what we know now, that it just started as an argument between unknown persons and quickly escalated with the violent acts", he said.

He has a lengthy history of trouble the law involving drug possession.

Fawcett was 62 when she died of anal cancer on June 25, 2009, the same day Michael Jackson died.

In 2015, his half sister, Oscar-winning actress Tatum O'Neal, told People magazine that Redmond's drug addiction was spiraling out of control and that she had urged him to go to 12-step meetings with her. He pleaded no contest to heroin possession stemming from the 2011 arrest and was sentenced to five years of probation, according to KABC.
