Actress Millie Bobby Brown has quit Twitter after she was made the subject of a series of vile, homophobic memes.

When one Twitter user pointed out that the girl making the claim doesn't have a hijab on in her profile picture, she responded, "because she ripped it off me".

According to Deadline, she had been plagued by the hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown.

Internet users have also lifted Brown's social media posts, such as Snapchat photos, and photoshopped them with homophobic and racist captions.

Other social media users expressed support for Brown, who remains active on Instagram.

This has not stopped the damaging meme from spreading, however, with one popular tweet posted on May 12 saying "Millie bobby brown arriving at pride" above a video of someone driving a auto into several protesters.

The same person later admitted that the Tweet was a joke, though evidently the damage had already been done.

The star had 2.28 million followers before she deactivated the account. Below are some examples of the meme, which include homophobic slurs. To make up these wildly false memes and stories about her is especially heinous.
