On May 19, Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Ahead of their wedding, Meghan told of her desire to hit the ground running as a working royal, and the new Duchess has been as good as her word.

After agreeing to be interviewed on British television, Thomas Markle told ITV the details of his conversation with the Prince and mentioned some interesting places that their talk had gone.

In the tell-all interview, Thomas even told Piers Morgan that Harry is "open to Brexit" and believes "President Trump should be given a chance", despite the royals being expected to remain strictly neutral on all political issues.

The official announcement comes after plans for Harry and Meghan's royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in the autumn were confirmed.

"Meghan cried, I'm sure, she did cry, and they both said, 'Take care of yourself, we are really anxious about you, '" he said, reminiscing about the moment he told his daughter he would be unable to attend her wedding.

Speaking of watching the wedding on TV, Thomas thanked Prince Charles for stepping into his place, and said of his daughter, 'She was lovely. "It was incredible watching her", he said.

"I can't think of a better replacement than Prince Charles", said Markle.

"He said, 'Hello Thomas.' I said, 'Hi Harry.' It became a conversation back and forth, mostly about politics".

Prince Charles met Meghan half way down the aisle and walked her up to Harry.

Asked about what he thought about Meghan's mother attending the wedding, he said, "My ex-wife is a handsome woman".

He also shared that the couple, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will probably seek to have children soon.

He said: "I hope I haven't offended them, I don't think I have, they know I love them and I hope the royals - the royal family - will understand my feelings as well".

Describing the moment Prince Harry asked for his daughter's hand in marriage over the phone, Mr Markle said he told his future son-in-law: "You are a gentleman, promise me you will never raise your hand against my daughter and of course I will grant you my permission".

Thomas expects he will have grandchildren very soon as he revealed his daughter will most likely start a family soon.

"I cried about it and I regretted it because I really wanted to walk my daughter down the aisle".

As a result, he did not walk his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day. "That really upsets me somewhat".

Markle also claimed that he discussed politics with his new royal son-in-law, including the USA president and Brexit. "I think Harry has changed his mind by now".

In the wide-ranging interview, the father of the bride also indicated he had disagreements with Prince Harry about President Trump. "My daughter was a princess since the day she was born". "They take all kinds of pictures of me making me look negative", Markle said, choking up.
