Just Cause 4 Leaked From Steam Pre-Purchase Banner

This has led to a rather embarrassing situation as Valve's gaming client Steam accidentally listed Just Cause 4 in their gaming catalog.

The latest entry in the series, Just Cause 3, launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in December 2015. The image featured our lovable protagonist Rico Rodriguez in a stormy, jungle-like setting.

Shortly after Avalanche's announcement, Just Cause 4 mysteriously popped up on Steam, seemingly spoiling an upcoming E3 reveal.

With yesterday's announcement of Generation Zero, the co-op open world shooter game self-published by Avalanche Studios, one could have thought the developers had their hands full between that game and Rage 2. According to the former, clicking the advertisement only leads to the Steam front page, and there's not now a store listing for the game.

Be sure to check-in with PSU throughout E3 for up to the minute info on Just Cause 4 and every other title exhibited at this year's show.

It's unclear if the game will release this year or next, but it's definitely coming. It's a brand new IP from the studio, which sees the player explore and try to survive in a "reimagining of 1980's Sweden" where hostile machines have invaded the countryside. We should expect more of the same from Just Cause 4, only bigger and better looking I imagine.

Avalanche Studios have a lot of projects going on right now.
