Presently, the Renegade is the smallest SUV in Jeep's global line-up but a new model will be unveiled internationally to sit below it.

Fresh off Monday's tease of a slightly redesigned taillight, Jeep today revealed the whole 2019 Jeep Renegade and its extremely mild refresh at the 2018 Turin Auto Show in Italy. We're getting our first glimpse of the changes for 2019 with the Europe-market Renegade, although we can assume that those styling tweaks will make their way to our Renegade when the USA -spec version is shown later this year. The bumper design has got a more busier and comes with chiseled lower section. Also, the outer casing looks more refined thanks to the new gloss black shade instead of matte black found on the older model. Also, while the headlights are similar in their basic shape, the addition of LED trim and a new interior lighting design gives the new Jeep a far more premium look.

For the European market, the Renegade facelift is likely to come with a new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine that's good for 120hp. The upcoming facelift is slated to get minor tweaks on the exterior and the interior. The larger infotainment system and the climate control unit seems to have been borrowed from the 2019 Jeep Cherokee.

We expect Jeep to release USA information on the 2019 Renegade later this year, likely in the fall along with all of FCA's other model-year changes. Much like when it revealed the new Wrangler, however, Jeep has played particularly coy with details.

Mechanically, the Jeep Renegade facelift is expected to receive an update in its powertrain options as well.

Jeep is also expected to launch a turbocharged diesel engine in specific worldwide markets as well.
