Zara Tindall, the Queen's granddaughter, and her husband Mike Tindall have announced the birth of their second child.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace stated: "Mrs Michael Tindall was safely delivered of a baby girl on 18th June, at Stroud Maternity Unit".

The couple's choice of baby name has not yet been revealed but the palace confirms it will be "in due course".

The child will be second-cousin to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The baby is the seventh great-grandchild of Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip. "The weight of the baby was 9lbs 3oz", the statement read.

Opening up about the devastating loss past year, Mike told The Sunday Times: 'One thing you do learn is how many other people have had to go through the same.

The announcement comes two years after Zara tragically suffered a miscarriage in December 2016, one month after the couple announced Zara's pregnancy.

Mia Grace Tindall was born on 17 January 2014.

The new baby does not have a royal title and neither do Mr and Mrs Tindall.

When Zara - daughter of the Princess Royal - was born in 1981, she had no right to a title, being born down the female line as the offspring of a daughter of a sovereign.

Zara and Mike Tindall have welcomed a baby girl.

She is an accomplished equestrian who won a silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012.
