Leicester City's first game at King Power Stadium comes a week later on Saturday 18 August, when newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers visit King Power Stadium for the first time since 2013. As if that is not enough, the Gunners then travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on match-week two.

The opening day of the season has the whopper clash between Arsenal and their tormentors from last season, the champions Manchester City.

The traditional Premier League 'Clasico' between Liverpool and United is due to be staged at Anfield on December 15, with the return taking place at Old Trafford on February 23.

"There is always a great atmosphere for games in Dublin and amongst Irish fans and I think it will act as a very important game for both teams as it is played so close to the start of the new Premier League season".

Jose Mourinho will take his United side to Anfield and everyone will be hoping for more excitement than last year's 0-0 draw [barring a David De Gea wonder-save] provided.

Chelsea, who remain in a state of flux with question marks over their owner, manager and star players, have been handed a low-key start to the season, aside from the early meeting with Arsenal.

Oh yes, and Mikel Arteta will be on the touchline at the Emirates Stadium at the start of the new season after all... That hasn't, however, stopped the club preparing our pre-season plans.
