The extra savings for prime members will be available at all u-s whole foods stores by this summer.

It's all about Amazon's model of adding more benefits to Prime membership, and now almost half of all Whole Foods stores offer these deals. The service began in February in Austin, Dallas, Cincinnati and Virginia Beach, Va. Amazon has owned Austin-based Whole Foods since August 2017.

Amazon is expanding its Whole Foods Market discounts to 10 new states, including Hawaii, the companies announced on Monday. The Prime discounts are also available at Whole Foods Market in 365 stores nationwide. The service launched earlier this year with plans for expansion across the US throughout 2018.

Richmond Prime members can have thousands of Whole Foods Market items delivered such as produce, bakery, meat, and seafood.

With the expansion, Whole Foods stores in 23 states will have integrated Prime benefits at checkout. The discount applies only to Prime members.

The grocery chain will expand its Prime-exclusive discounts to 10 new states Wednesday. "Based on the positive customer feedback and successes we've seen over the past month, we're accelerating our timeline to expand these savings to all of our USA stores".

Prime members who just can't wait can get delivery within the hour for $7.99.

To get the discounts, shoppers have to scan a code on an app, or use their phone number when checking out.
