T.I was arrested early Wednesday morning for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after getting into an argument with a security guard outside of his gated community, as Atlanta's Channel 2 News reported.

Henry County Deputy Police Chief Mike Ireland said T.I. was arrested around 4:30 a.m. after he got into an argument with a security guard.

"Don't you know who I am?" he asked the guard, according to police. T.I. then called a friend who arrived on the scene and also argued with the guard, prompting police to be called.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., was booked on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. No word on whether "BBQ Becky" was the one working security at the gate.

T.I. attends the Roc Nation pre-Grammy brunch in NY on January 27. Sadow said that T.I. had a different version of events: that the guard was "asleep" when Harris arrived at the guardhouse to try to go home.

"To see young people involved with something so important right now - that gives a sense of hope", T.I. said.

We're told T.I. plans on pursuing legal action against his HOA for the incident with the guard. "Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry", his attorney Steve Sadow wrote on Facebook. "The guard refused entry". "Simple assault", in Georgia state law, does not require a physical assault to take place, just "reasonable apprehension" of receiving a "violent injury".

The statement continued, "Tip was in contact with "Tiny" by phone and "Tiny" confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately".

T.I.'s wife, R&B singer and songwriter Tameka "Tiny" Harris owns a home in the Eagles's Landing Country Club community that she bought in 2014. Attorney Sadow says the officers had no interest in "hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip".
