Rain Hampers Day 1 at NCAA Kissimmee Regional; Chants in 12th

Sophomore Luke Schniederjans (Powder Springs, Ga.), had just one birdie and two bogeys on his card and shot 72 (+1), while senior Chris Petefish (Danville, Calif.) struggled to a 74 and did not count for the Yellow Jackets. Sharp cut two strokes over the final nine holes, while Green was 6-over-par at the turn and was then even on holes 1-9. Clemson shot the best round of the tournament at 276 (-12). At 3-over (294-285-579), Ole Miss holds an eight-shot cushion over SC (293-294-587) for fifth place with 18 holes remaining. The top five teams from the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships.

Ole Miss used rounds in the 60s by juniors Braden Thornberry (68) and Beau Briggs (69) to move up the leaderboard.


At 8:45 a.m. Wednesday morning, Helle Leed will make history for the women's golf program at Southern Arkansas as she will tee-off from Hole No. 10 at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston for the opening round of the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship.

Sargent finished tied for 70th with a three-day, 11-over tally of 227 (78-73-76) at the par-72, 7,154-yard Reunion Resort Watson Course.


Senior Jonathan Hardee and junior Davis Riley join Furr as the trio rank among the top-20 individuals after 36 holes. The Georgia native is tied for 18th individually.

Freshman Alex Shead shot his second straight even-par 71 for the Jaguars and is tied for 33rd (E), while sophomore Gustav Andersson and freshmen Laken Hinton and Olof Gunnarsson picked up a few strokes in round two.
