Missing SC 2-year-old Found in Iowa, Parents Arrested

Dakota had been missing since April and was last seen at a hospital in Iowa on Monday with her parents.

Police from Camden, South Carolina, said the parents may be begging or asking strangers for money.

The missing Camden toddler spotted in Iowa after being missing for a month has been found safe, according to a statement from Camden Police.

On Christmas Eve past year the couple shared a post in response to criticisms they had received from people concerned they were living in a motel. They were also spotted in Marshall, Minnesota.

They may be traveling in a 1996 beige Ford Aerostar Van with SC license plates LMU173, similar to the one shown. "Stop by the Camden Police Department if you're ever in SC!"

"Dakota is described as 2'2" tall, 25 lbs. with blonde hair and blue eyes. 2 year old Dakota Ray was placed into the custody of the Department of Human Services where she is being cared for.

A post on William and Jessica's shared Facebook suggests the couple had been having trouble with their young daughter for some time before the family went on the run. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 112 pounds, He has long light brown hair and blue eyes. He is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 340 pounds. Police say they were arrested on unrelated charges. She is believed to be in the company of her father, William Ray, 44, and her mother, Jessica Ray, 36.

William and Jessica are heavy drug users, police say, and authorities are anxious for Dakota's safety.
