Brazil legend Rivaldo has urged Neymar to leave Paris Saint-Germian if he wants to win "anything important", including the Champions League.

In fact, Neymar has been linked with a departure from Paris for quite some time, with his former team's arch-rivals, Real Madrid, dubbed as the favourites to secure his services.

Lionel Messi is hoping talks about Neymar joining Real Madrid in the summer are just pure speculation and that they do not come to fruition, as he is certain it would be "terrible" for Barcelona.

However, while nearly all of Neymar's former team-mates have voiced their opinions about a potential move to Real Madrid, Lionel Messi has finally had his say.

In an interview with TyC Sports, Messi said: "It would be bad [if Neymar moved to Madrid] because of everything he means to Barcelona. And on a footballing level Madrid would be much stronger than they already are".

And Neymar also thinks moving to Real would boost his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or.

The player's father, Neymar Santos Sr.is also reportedly in contact with Real Madrid to force through a move away from PSG.

The superstar himself recently stated that he is getting "tired" of the constant transfer rumours around his future, before adding that he is focusing only on the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup. "What I miss from Barcelona and about Barcelona is these two [Messi and Suarez], due to the joy we had on a daily basis".

Considering his status as one of the best players in the world, it is not surprising that there are few big spending clubs that are ready to make a move for the player in the summer.

"I don't compete with him".

They reached the final of the same tournament in 2015 and 2016 but lost both times and Messi said the successive failures weighed heavily."It's a weight that we carry and we want to overcome it", he said.
