Chelsea captain Gary Cahill urges clarity over Antonio Conte's future

Conte has fuelled tensions with the Chelsea hierarchy this season by repeatedly intimating that the club showed a lack of ambition in the transfer market last summer, and he again insisted that his players have not underachieved despite a fifth-place finish in the Premier League.

Hazard scored the first-half penalty that fired Chelsea to a 1-0 win over Manchester United in Saturday's FA Cup final at Wembley.

"I think I am showing this also today and I think we found the right way to win this trophy".

The back page of Monday's Daily Star has one that may not seem believable, but after Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said "any additions have to improve the squad" in his end-of-season interview, the name on this back page is one of the few that springs to mind as being able to do that.

"I didn't think we'd concede in this match but of course Hazard is a very good player and created a penalty".

"We'll see what is going to happen after the World Cup".

But that could not disguise the fact that the Londoners, champions in the previous season, finished a massive 30 points behind title-winners Manchester City.

Should it prove to be Conte's last game in charge, the Italian bowed out on a high as his decision to start first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois for the first time in the FA Cup this season over Willy Caballero was justified by a series of saves from the Belgian to keep United at bay after the break. And I think my past speaks very clear as a player and a manager.

Antonio Conte warned Chelsea they would be losing a "serial winner" if they chose to sack him and said that, whatever the future might hold, he would always love the club. "Also if my future must be in a different way".

Toure, 35, has been an icon in the Premier League over the past five years and after a season which saw him used sparingly by Pep Guardiola, he will be keen to play more regularly in the twilight of his career.

Mourinho and Conte have consistently clashed since the latter arrived in England just under two years ago.

"I'm a serial victor".

"This was to save our season", Cahill said before collecting the FA Cup.

"I never read papers but you get questions by journalists after games and before games and eventually it turns around the group".

He added: "I wanted to remember the moment, without being too emotional about it".

"The decision to appoint me.in two seasons I brought two trophies to this club".
