Glance at next season's schedule for CBS and you could be forgiven for wondering what decade it is.

The CBS enthusiasm for a "Murphy Brown" redux undoubtedly was fueled by the success of comedy revivals at ABC ("Roseanne") and NBC ("Will & Grace").

CBS keeps turning back the clock this fall, adding revivals of Candice Bergen's "Murphy Brown" and "Magnum P.I" to a fall lineup already featuring "Hawaii Five-0", "MacGyver," and "S.W.A.T".

When asked if it would be similar to the real-world battles between MSNBC's "Morning Joe" and Fox News' "Fox & Friends", Kahl responded: "That's a pretty good characterization".

"Her son is going to be in the series and he is on a competing network at the same time frame", explained Sherman. Jay Hernandez will take over the starring role from Tom Selleck.

And, no surprise here, just about all of them are right in the CBS wheelhouse. The uplifting series stars Brandon Micheal Hall as Miles Finer, an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down and inside-out when he receives a Facebook friend request from God. FBI, set in the bureau's NY office, stars Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue), Zeeko Zaki (Valor), Jeremy Sisto (Law & Order), and Ebonée Noel (Still Star-Crossed).

To make way for these newcomers, CBS dumped such veterans shows as "Scorpion" (with former Clevelander Robert Patrick) and "Kevin Can Wait".

The final new shows that made the cut for the fall lineup are dramas Federal Bureau of Investigation and God Friended Me.

Another new CBS fall drama, which will air 8-9 Sunday, is "God Friended Me".

Two other new dramas, The Code and The Red Line, and new comedy Fam will be held for midseason, along with returning shows Instinct, Elementary, Man with a Plan, and Life.

THURSDAY: 8-8:30, "The Big Bang Theory"; 8:30-9, "Young Sheldon"; 9-9:30, "Mom"; 9:30-10, "Murphy Brown"; 10-11, "S.W.A.T".
