We're now less than a month away from that launch date, so we should start to hear more rumors and leaks drip through in the days ahead, but we'll also bring you all the official news as it's announced from NY. The unveiling will take place in NY at 10am on the aforementioned date.

We've heard rumors and speculation about a new BlackBerry phone called the Key2 and now it's (just about) official - BlackBerry has sent out invitations to a special launch event in NY on June 7, and mentions the Key2 by name. As of now, there is no clarity on what BlackBerry will pack in the KEYone successor, but there is no doubt that it will have a physical keyboard, which was a massive part of the company's success in its heydays. The tweet includes a teaser that reads, "An Icon Reborn".

BlackBerry Mobile revealed the BlackBerry Key2 launch date through its official Twitter account.

Back in April, an image surfaced of what was believed to be the KEY2, the successor to BlackBerry's KEYone. The TENAA listing also revealed that the handset will support 4G LTE and will have dual-SIM slots. The launch of the smartphone follows the launch of BlackBerry KEYone, its premium Android handset with its renowned QWERTY keypad.

As far as rumors are concerned, the KEY2 is said to feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port for charging, but otherwise we don't know anything else about the upcoming smartphone. Some reports suggests that the device could be powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM.
